Robert Lee Lamb

Born July 4, 1926 in Tuscola, IL, he was the son of James Reuben and Leone (Frazier) Lamb of Tuscola, IL. He was a graduate of Tuscola High School and attended the DeVry Institute. He married Marlene (Shields) Lamb and she survives.

Robert was a superintendent at the IUPUI Physical Plant, retiring in July of 1989.

He had previously owned and operated Tuscola Sheet Metal and Plumbing with his brother in Tuscola. After retirement he had worked with Burns Security and had been a real estate salesman.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Tuscola and the New Life Baptist Church, Greencastle.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Robert J. (Kasey) Lamb of Avon, Jonathan R. “ Randy” (Lori) Lamb of Coatesville, Melissa J. (Donnie) Spencer of Tuscaloosa, AL, and James Richard Ryan Lamb of Coatesville; nine grandchildren, Jacob & Noah Lamb, Ashlie, Tyler, Joshua, & Brandon Lamb, A.J. & Gabby Spencer, and LiliAnn Lamb; two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ernest Lamb of Decatur, IL and James Richard Lamb of Tuscola, IL; and a niece, Sandy Burrous.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the New Life Baptist Church, 51 Ridgeway St. Greencastle, with Rev. Dr. Michael Wren and Rev. Hallie Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Brownsburg Cemetery in Brownsburg, IN.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 24th at the church.
