Roscoe C. Reed

Roscoe C. Reed, age 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

Born April 18, 1922 in Marion County, he was the son of Charles and Lilly (Heckman) Reed and was a graduate of New Augusta High School in Pike Township. He married Beaulah (Harris) Reed on September 27, 1942 and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2011.

Roscoe had been the Superintendent of the Waste Water Treatment Plant with Indianapolis Public Works. He was a member of the Bethany Christian Church; the Rooster Club at the church; and active in the Boy and Cub Scouts. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and traveling

Survivors include his children, Susan (Dale) Thomas of Fillmore, William C. (Susan) Reed of English, Steven R.Reed (Clint Shephard) of Gainesville, FL, Virginia A. (Ron) Walter of Greenwood, and Michael P. (Frances) Reed of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, Kenneth Reed; and a sister Stella Oden.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the North Liberty Cemetery 6001 W. 52nd St. Indianapolis with Rev. Bill Pursell officiating.
