

Sandra Denise Clay was born September 21, 1950, in Decatur to Kenneth Ross and Elva “Sally” Irwin Ross. They both preceded her in death. She was married to Larry C. Clay until his death in 2010. She was the mother to Colleen “Kellie” Romer, Kerry Kuether and Stephanie Foreman (deceased). Sandra has two sisters; Kathleen Parker and Kendra “Kim” Amweg. She adored her son in law, Martin Romer along with daughter in law, Barbara Kuether. Her grandchildren were bright lights in her life; Nicholas Foreman, Haylie Romer, Corrine Romer, Jack Romer (deceased), Courtney Kuether, Hannah Kuether-Buschur, Morgan Kuether and great grandchild, Gentry Buschur.
Sandra had many friends in her life. These friends were met through her many interests. She was known for her impeccable quilting skills, wicked card playing, steady golf swing, and being a clutch bowler. She had a great mind for board games and was a very strategic thinker. Those that knew her would describe her as talented, smart and a go getter. Sandra also had an incredible sense of humor and was quick with witty comebacks. She had a great laugh and a beautiful smile.
Her family will honor her passing and welcome friends and extended family to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church narthex to join them in a visitation and refreshments on Saturday, October 11th 12:00-2:00. A liturgical service and final blessing with follow. Sandra will be laid to rest with her husband Larry in Ohio. Her beautiful quilts will be on display at the visitation.
