Sandra Gail Woods

Sandra Gail Woods Fillmore In, passed away July 3, 2026. She was born to William S. Carter & W. Irene Carter, (Ephlin) both deceased. She attended Kingman School and her Junior year moved to New Castle In. graduating from Chrysler Memorial High School. She also graduated from Indiana Business College Muncie In. Sandra was married to H. Russell (Pete) Newnum, (deceased) for twelve years, then married James L. Woods for 52 years. There are four children, Kristie A Rector (Bruce Richard), Tammy Kennedy, Terra L Harris (David), and James Randall Woods. Sandra had one brother Gregory L. Carter (deceased), and one son-in-law Brad Rector (deceased), one sister-in-law Jane Ann Russell (Thomas), one niece Melissa Nees (Jamie), one nephew Jeffery Vickous (Stacy), and several cousins. Sandra worked several jobs starting in high school then later at Olin (Covington In.), Morrison Tire Greencastle In, Greencastle Feed Service Greencastle, and Blue Flame LP Gas Greencastle In, retiring after 22 years, then helping with her grandkids. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers, watching football, basketball, and most of all being with her kids and grandkids, which are Katlyn Canas (Irvin), Brandon Rector (Alexis), Travis Kennedy (Juli), Troy Kennedy (Emily), Anna Harris and Ellen Harris. Four great grandkids Adrianna Kennedy and Jagger Kennedy, Nash and Finley Rector (twins). She belonged to Kingman Christian Church, New Castle Christian Church, and Greencastle Christian church.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Greencastle Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Fillmore Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the church from 1:00 PM until time of service.
