Sarah Beth Kerr

Sarah was born in Greencastle on November 20, 1931, the daughter of Russell and Geneva (Maxwell) Elmore, and was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mrs. Kerr was employed at Greencastle Schools and retired from Gobin United Methodist Church where she served as Secretary. She was involved in the St Paul Ladies Guild and the Putnam County Hospital Guild. She loved quilting, crafting and being with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Charles R. Kerr; two daughters, Beckie Hight, (husband-Steve), of Texas, and Judi Birt, (husband-Eric), of Greencastle; five grandchildren, Brandi Cooper, (husband-Chris), Katie Ritter, (husband-Randy), Michelle Birt Kruse, (husband-Alex), Jenny Sisk, (husband-Brent), and Andrew Birt; four great grandchildren, Brandon Cooper, Makayla and Macie Ritter, and Piper Grace Birt; and a sister Lavon Potts, (husband-Curt), Washington, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Roberta Perry and a brother, Robert M. Elmore.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 202 E Washington St, Greencastle, IN 46135, with Father John Hollowell officiating. Entombment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
