Shawn Allan Burnell

Shawn was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on October 21, 1990, the son of Timothy and Shelly (Perry) Burnell, and was a 2009 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Mr. Burnell worked for Putnam County Correction for three years. He was passionate about his tattoos, each one told a story, Shawn enjoyed target shooting and going to concerts.

Surviors include his parents; a sister, Tina Burnell, Greencastle; a half-brother, Shane Burnell, Belchertown, Massachusetts; a step-sister, Elyse Saltman, Belchertown, Massachusetts; his step-mother, Joy Burnell, Belchertown, Massachusetts; his grandmother, Betsy Burnell Pittsfield, Massachusetts; and his girlfriend, Abbie Freer, Pontiac, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his Paternal grandfather, Arthur Burnell; and maternal grandparents Kenneth and Deion Perry.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2020 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday. Cremation will take place at a later date.
