Born September 2, 1965 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence Edward Strong and Sandra Mead.
Starla was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Marta Taj and a niece Lyric Bryce Work.
Starla is survived by her husband Oscar Ortiz; children Thomas Richard Chartrand III, Mon-Tay Dominque McClellan, Estralla Se’rey Ortiz, Uriah Roel Ortiz, Orion Javier Ortiz, and Iesha Bre’anna Ortiz; sisters Miranda Mitchell and Dora Strong; brother Tim Strong; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
