

She was born on November 30, 1924 in Putnam County, Indiana to Clem Rissler and Anna Baumuck Rissler.
Thelma was a graduate of Central Normal College, Danville, IN where she was a member of the Belles of CNC. After graduation, she taught Choir, Band and Business courses at Reelsville, Stilesville and retired from Decatur Central Schools in Indianapolis.
She also was a member of Fillmore Christian Church, Beechwood Pleasant Circle, Alpha Theta Epsilon, and was the Ladies Billiards Champion on two occasions.
Thelma had been a winter resident of Alamo, Texas for 32 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Kenneth B. Sutherlin and Walter Olson; a daughter-in-law, Sandie Sutherlin; a son-in-law, Robert O’Brien; and her brother, Raymond Rissler.
Surviving are her children, Diane O’ Brien, Allan Sutherlin and wife Elizabeth, Kathy Sutherlin, Connie Hamilton and husband Michael, and Michael Sutherlin; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Fillmore Christian Church, 102 North Main Street, with Pastor Mike Faust officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, and on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services at the church.
