Tracey Elizabeth Heet, 51, of Greencastle passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Tracey was born in Terre Haute, on May 4, 1970, the daughter of Carl and Carol (Stearley) Bopp, and was a 1988 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from Indiana State University and returned to ISU where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education for her teaching endorsement.
Mrs. Heet is a member of New Providence Baptist Church. She proudly served in the Indiana Air National Guard during Operation Desert Storm. Tracey worked for 21 years as a teacher, both at Northview Middle School in Indianapolis, then for 16 years at South Putnam High School, where she was a dedicated Sponsor of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
Survivors include her mother; her husband of 19 years, Bryce Heet, Greencastle; three Children, Jonah Sanders, Caleb Heet, and Chloe Heet, all of Greencastle; two brothers, Brian Bopp, Terre Haute, and Chris Bopp, (wife-Hannah), Terre Haute; a sister Anne Bopp, (husband-Eric Crown), Bolingbrook, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at South Putnam High School with Pastor Brice LeBlanc officiating. Doors will open at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
