

Vera was born in Coatesville on December 23, 1931, to Walter and Lena Ross
She Married Wendell Clark on September 1, 1954, at Fillmore Christian Church. They were married for 67 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell, five brothers and a sister and a great granddaughter Emerson Miller.
Vera was a 1949 graduate of Fillmore High School; and worked for a period at Kimball Larkin Insurance Agency. She was the oldest member of the Fillmore Christian Church and served as a Sunday School teacher, deaconess, and was also a member of the CWF group.
Vera loved sewing, and made many of the clothes her daughters wore, was an excellent cook and enjoyed canning things from her garden. She enjoyed the beauty of her flowers, especially her roses. Vera and Wendell so enjoyed going to all the events her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in.
She lived a wonderful life, loving her Lord, her church, her friends and especially her family. Vera served the Lord faithfully all her life; and set a wonderful example of a Proverbs 31 woman. As such her family can rise up and call her Blessed! All the family was blessed through her faithfulness.
Vera will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include, daughters Melony (Mark) Scott of Greencastle, Angie(Camden) Davis of Wylie Texas, Sheila(Paul) Rising of Greencastle; Seven grandchildren, Stephanie ( Shane) Gregory, Dustin Scott, Lacy (Korie) Wells, Elysia (Tyler) Zimmerman, Trevor ( Julie) Davis, Austin (Megan) Miller, and Mallory( Joseph) Lenihan; 11 great grandchildren, Kain Gregory, Trinity Gregory, Lydia Wells, Cecelia Wells, Blakely Zimmerman, Rory Zimmerman, Clark Davis, Dawson Miller, Benson Miller, Rozlyn Lenihan and Reece Lenihan; a great-great grandchild, Ellie Grace Gregory; As well as brothers Marvin and Herschel Ross.
The family would like to thank all the employees and staff at Mill Pond for taking such good care of Vera Jean and Wendell these past several years. It’s always a difficult thing to entrust your loved ones to others but we are thankful for the care and treatment they received in your facility.
Funeral services for Vera Jean will be at the Fillmore Christian Church on Friday, September 26th at 11:00 AM.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 25th from 4 to 7 PM at Bittles and Hurt Funeral home.
