Born May 11, 1943 in Clinton, IN, he was the son of William and Mary (Lloyd) Hoke and was a graduate of Bainbridge High School “Class of 1962”.
Bill was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War from 1965- 1966.
He retired in 2002, having worked 32 years at Allison’s and Rolls Royce. Bill was a Bainbridge Volunteer Fire Department member for many years. He had been very active as a member of the Bainbridge Christian Church, having served as a Deacon, Elder, and Board Chairman.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He loved coaching for his children’s ball teams and serving his church and community. However, if you knew Bill well, you would know one of his great joys was working outside.
He is survived by his wife, Chyril Hoke, daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Kiger, son, Mark (Jennifer) Hoke, and wonderful grandchildren, Dalton & Bethany (Kiger) Guyer, Chelsey and Noah Kiger, Grant and Alex Hoke, all of Bainbridge; a sister, Mary Hanson of Coatesville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Bainbridge Community Building. Inurnment with military honors will follow the services at the Bainbridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service on February 7th at the Bainbridge Community Building.
