Born December 21, 1974 in Greencastle, he was the son of Donald Ray and Edith "Edie" (Shrout) Shoemaker and was a graduate of Greencastle High School "Class of 1994"
William worked at Ascena for three years, he previously worked as a manager at FedEx for eight years, and Cauldron Vending for 20 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1592, Greencastle.
William is survived by his mother Edie Shoemaker; brother Donny Shoemaker & wife Laura; children Gabriel Shoemaker, Isabel Shoemaker, and Elijah Shoemaker; grandchildren Gracie & Lila and nieces and nephews Catelyn Shoemaker, Christan Campbell, Coby Shoemaker, and Cole Shoemaker.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 25th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
