
Born March 11, 1934 in Putnam County, he was the son of Earl and Annie Ester (Cline) Zimmerman and was a graduate of Bainbridge High School “Class of 1952”.
Glen had farmed and drove a Maplehurst milk truck, prior to working as an ironworker. He co-owned the Sinclair Gas Station for 3 years.. He worked 39 years as an ironworker for Ben Hur and GMI, where he retired as a foreman in 1996. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge; Moose Lodge; V.F.W.; and the American Legion, Greencastle.
Survivors include his children, Rodney (Cheen) Zimmerman, Randy (Margie) Zimmerman, Rebecca (Doug) Stokes, and Rodger (Tammy) Zimmerman; two sisters, Mary Ann York and Nancy (John) Walenten; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jim, Gene, Dick, and Pete Zimmerman; and a sister, Evelyn Nave.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the New Life Baptist Church, 51 Ridgeway, Greencastle, with interment to follow at the Bainbridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the church.
