Wilma Jean Chestnut

Wilma was born in Bloomington on January 6, 1941, the daughter of Burgess and Florena (Payton) Snow, and was a graduate of Bloomington High School.

Mrs. Chestnut was an administrative assistant for the Department of Medical Genetics at Indiana University in Indianapolis.

Survivors include her son Jeff Salee, (wife-Sherry); daughter-in-law DeAnn Salee; a sister, Becky Voorhies, 5 grandchildren, Brett Salee, Jami Salee, Bradley Salee, (wife-Juliann), Clayton Salee, (wife-Alyssa), and Jennifer Blagg, (husband-Paul); several great-grandchildren; 3 nieces, Darlene Vaughan; Cheryl Lamm, and Terry Snow; several great-nieces and nephews, and very dear friends John and Alicia Wood of Switz City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Chestnut; her son, Scott Salee; and stepsons, Donny Chestnut and Steve Chestnut.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, at Little Walnut Cemetery. Friends and family will gather graveside at 9:30 a.m.
