Alan Stuart Safrit, 71, of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away on February 25, 2026 at his home. Alan was born January 31, 1955, in Salisbury, NC, to Narve Bernard Safrit and Betty Charles Dunn. Alan will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude by those who knew him.
Alan worked many years as a supervisor and steel driver before becoming disabled. His steady dedication and hardworking nature marked his life and the way he provided for those he loved. He found joy in fishing, hunting, watching his UNC Tar Heels play, and he especially treasured family time and moments spent with his grandchildren. He was a strong patriot and loved this country he called home, but we know he will love his new home even more.
Alan is survived by his son, Brandon Safrit and wife Taylor of High Point, NC; his sister, Mitzi Brown and husband Mike of Greensboro; his former wife of 30 years, Carmen Safrit; and his grandchildren, Tenley (7) and Luke (4). He is also survived by his cousin, Jill Safrit Clay; niece, Ashley, and great nephews, Kadence and Gavin.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Salisbury and was a UNC Chapel Hill alumnus.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 11:00 a.m., at Westminster Gardens.
