A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 8th, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he was a member. Friends will be received following the service at the church.
Al was a 30-year Vietnam veteran of the US Army, serving as an aviator. He enjoyed photography, computers, and watching old westerns. Al will be remembered for his sense of humor and love for his family. His favorite pastime was spending time with his only grandchild, Cole.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Vada Hart Sparkman and six siblings; Georgia, Ruth, Doug, Carlton, Virginia, and C.B.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 57 years, Glennis Sparkman; son, James Sparkman and daughter, Angi Sparkman, both of Greensboro; and sister, Jo Knopfel of Tampa, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund, 5736 Inman Rd., Greensboro, NC 27410.
