He is proceeded in death by his parents, Alfred and Rebecca, sister Ruth Thomas, his first son Andy, and "Nestle".
Buddy was a long time member of Florida St. Baptist church, where he attended with his family and met the people he would begin to build his own family around. Many years of his life were spent as an independent business owner where he touched the lives of countless people and established the bonds of multiple enduring friendships alive to this day. His greatest passion outside of his family was his involvement with racing, most notably his participation with the North Carolina Region of SCCA, a founding member of Triad Sports Car Club, and GOOSE. He became a central figure with theses organizations, most notably SCCA where he held multiple offices and gave countless hours of his life to assist in the successful events of the club. Many members of the club have been assisted in their personal connections through his help in getting them ready or connected to what ever resources they may have been lacking, benefiting from his abilities & knowledge. More than anything else people benefited from his "never say die" approach, no matter how tired he was or was making them. He applied that heads down technique to most things he was involved with in life, always evident in the love and dedication he had for his family and how he expressed it.
There will be an absence in the world and in the lives of his family and friends. They just don't make them like him anymore. His greatest personal wish would be to be remembered as a "Good Guy", and hope that no matter how he was often perceived, that his love for family and friends was always what shown through. He will be missed and mourned by many of us for the rest of our lives, but rest assure he wants nothing but the best for us all going forward.
