A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindley Park Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Emanuel Pegram and Rev. Scott Orr.
Alma was the daughter of the late William D. and Lucille Warren Wall. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Robert A. Bishop, and was a devoted wife and mother, always self sacrificing for her husband and children. She is survived by her children, Donald Beatty and wife Lynda Kay, Marti Smith and husband Michael, and Marie Bishop, and a granddaughter Chelsea Smith.
Alma was always committed to her faith and a member of Lindley Park Baptist church for over 60 years, serving as a Deaconess and Chairman of the Deacon Board. She retired from Snow White Cleaners where she worked for many years and met her husband. She was an avid reader, enjoyed baking, and loved gardening.
Alma and the family wanted to thank the staff in the ICU and the Palliative care unit at Wesley Long Community Hospital for their wonderful care, with a special acknowledgement to Shane Anderson, a true Angel of Mercy, who made Alma's last days comfortable.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home on Elm St.
