

A celebration of his life service will be held today, Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Centenary United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Ellis officiating.
Lonnie proudly served his country in the Marine Corp during World War II, participating in the battle of Okinawa. He began his career with the Southern Railroad and subsequently changed his career to refrigeration, working with Hasco and Brady-Trane Inc. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Centenary Methodist Church.
Lonnie loved playing golf. He was a devoted father and husband and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Philip Edward Thompson and his mother Hunter Allen Crawford.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Wilma Lucille Crawford; daughters Alicia Jacqueline Thompson and Elizabeth Crawford Hall of Fayetteville, NC; grandson Anthony Russell Thompson and wife Jennifer; great grandson James Conner Thompson; and Aunt Helen Fitch.
The family will visit with friends following the service.
