

Andrew Dairrell Cranford, 93, resident of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away and entered into the presence of God on October 29, 2025. Born on August 24, 1932 in Elora, Tennessee, Dairrell was the youngest of twelve children. He married Diane, his wife of over fifty-six years, on May 15, 1969. He retired from DuPont in Chattanooga, Tennessee and was the retired pastor of Summit Baptist Church in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joel, mother, Cludie, and son, Tim. Surviving family members include wife, Diane, of Greensboro; son, David, and daughter-in-law, Kim of Chattanooga; son, Mark, and daughter-in-law, Tracie, of Greensboro; daughter, Andrea, and son-in-law, Matt, of Oakboro, North Carolina; son, Kevin, and daughter-in-law, Kristy, of Chattanooga; grandson, Brandon, and granddaughter-in-law, Hayley, of Chattanooga; grandson, Andrew, granddaughter-in-law, Ashley, and great-granddaughter, Autumn, of Denton, North Carolina; granddaughter, Aurora, and her partner, Jaxon, of Fort Worth, Texas; and many other loving family members too numerous to name.
A lifelong fan of Tennessee Volunteer athletics, Dairrell enjoyed time with family, reading and studying Bible scripture, working in his vegetable garden, and eating Diane’s home cooking. Though Dairrell’s earthly jar of clay is broken beyond repair, his treasured soul now resides in heaven to be reunited with loved ones who have chosen the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dairrell’s memory may be made to Ancora Compassionate Care, a 501(c)3 nonprofit hospice, in Rockingham County. The family wishes to thank the staff of Ancora for their kindness and thoughtful care during his final days.
Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, 11:00 am at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
