The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Vanstory St. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Joe Tweed Cemetery in Marshall with The Reverend Jimmy Dean Hensley officiating.
Andy was a member of Eastern Gate Assembly of God. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was retired from a job he truly loved at Brooks Lumber Company. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Tweed Shelton, their daughter, Lois Virginia Andrews, grandson, Larry Andrews, Jr., and many sisters and brothers.
Mr. Shelton is survived by his daughter, Mary S. Patterson and husband, Keith of Reidsville, granddaughters, Valerie Valdez of the home, Jackie McCoy and husband, Keith of Newport, great-grandchildren, Keira and Anya Valdez, Scarlett Duran, and Drew McCoy, sister, Arizona Ramsey of Pamplin, VA, brother, Paul Shelton of Newcastle, Indiana, and the family dog, Toby.
