Angelo "Andy" Richard DeGiralamo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angelo (Andy) Richard DeGiralamo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on May 27, 1937 in Queens, Angelo lived a life full of love, generosity, and joy, touching the lives of all who knew him.

Angelo (Andy) is survived by his devoted wife, Anne, with whom he shared nearly 65 wonderful years of marriage. Together, Angelo and Anne built a life centered around faith, family, and love, raising eight daughters. He leaves behind his daughters and their families: Claire DeGiralamo, Diane (Gary) Whitmore, Susan DeGiralamo, Terri (Matt) Harbin, Catherine (Corbin) Rusch, Chrissy (John) Rogan, Julia (Brian) Griffith, and Amy (Reid) Matthews. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought light to his life: Gary Jr. and Ryan Whitmore, Elena Pokowitz, Anna, Sara Rose, and Evan Harbin, Corbin Jr., Nathan, Gracie, and Lily Rusch, Maggie, Michael, and Christopher Rogan, Barrett, Callum, Quinn, and Ellis Lee Griffith, Oscar and Rose Matthews, and, great-grandchildren, Aiden and Finley Whitmore. Angelo is survived, too, by his brother and life-long friend, Peter (Emma) DeGiralamo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Marion DeGiralamo, and by a grandson, Jack; his family takes comfort in knowing they are reunited now in Heaven.

Angelo will be dearly missed, but his stories and his legacy of love, faith, learning, and laughter will live on in all of us. Though we grieve his passing, we celebrate the incredible life he lived and the example he set for all of us.

The family will be holding a Funeral Mass on Monday, September 16 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Greensboro, North Carolina or to St. Francis Springs Prayer Center in Stoneville, North Carolina.
