Anne was born on August 20, 1933, in Little Mountain, SC to the late Homer P. and Hettie W. Lindler. After earning a B.S. in commerce in 1955 from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, she joined Eastman Chemical Company, working first in Kingsport, TN, and later in Greensboro. She was married to the late William P. McClamroch from 1961 to 1987. From 1978 until her retirement in 1995, she served for 17 years as a legal secretary in the City Attorney’s Office for the City of Greensboro.
For more than 65 years, she was an active member of First Lutheran Church, serving in ministries including the Mobile Meals program. She devoted much of her life to caring for her son John after a 1974 bicycle-car accident left him severely disabled.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William W. Lindler, Sr. She is survived by her sons, W. Michael McClamroch and his wife, Kathleen, and John M. McClamroch, all of Greensboro; and her grandchildren, Rachel K. Rodriguez (Brandon), W. Andrew McClamroch (Braedyn), and Nathan M. McClamroch.
The family is deeply grateful for the years of compassionate care provided by the staff of Well-Spring.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on October 18 at First Lutheran Church in Greensboro. There will be a time of visitation after the service. Her remains will be interred in the church’s memorial garden.
