Annie Mae Burney

Service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:00 am at Wells Memorial Church of God in Christ with Rev. Herman Platt officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Born May 17, 1915 in Wrens, Georgia, Mother Burney, as she was affectionately known, was preceded in death by her daughter, Missionary Melrose B. Rogers and granddaughter, Yvette C. Rogers.

Mother Burney was a faithful member of Wells Memorial Church of God in Christ where she served on the Mother’s Board and in various other capacities.

She is survived by grandchildren, Annette (Elder Ronnie) Jones of Greensboro, Alvah (Ellere) of High Point, NC, Benjamin (Azucena) of Albuquerque, NM, Wayne Rogers of High Point and Horace V. Rogers of Los Angeles, CA; great grandchildren, Ron Jones, Jr. (Lucille), Jasmine Rogers Cher Jones, Chloe Jones, Brandon Brodie, Mpho Manye-Rogers, Bianca Rogers, Jasmine Rogers, and Benjamin Rogers, Jr.; four great great grandchildren, loving goddaughters, Tammy Richmond and Angel Smith; and a host of family and friends.

The family will visit with friends thirty minutes prior to the service, beginning at 10:30 am, all other times at the home, 400 Mount Olive Drive, Greensboro, NC 27406.
