Anthony “Andy” McLaughlin, 94, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church with The Reverend Warren Pittman officiating.
Andy was born in Woodhaven, NY, one of eleven children of Charles and Katherine Georges McLaughlin. He served in the US Army, 104th Calvary, during WW II. Following his service, he continued his education and then went to work with Western Electric and retired after 39 years of service in 1974. Andy moved to the Jamestown area in 1983 to be closer to his children. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf and he never met a stranger.
Andy was preceded in death by his wife Louise and nine of his siblings. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving children; Linda Tranchetti of Jamestown, NC and Anthony “Tony” McLaughlin and wife Connie of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Meghan, Christopher, and Daniel McLaughlin, all of Greensboro, NC; sister, Margaret Morrow of N. Babylon, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
