Ariail B. Creed

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist church with Dr. Steve Pressley officiating.

Ariail was born to John L and Elmer Creed in Greenville, SC on February 17, 1926.

He grew up in Fayetteville, NC and attended Presbyterian College. He served in the US Navy during WWII and then served in the US Army during the Korean War. He got his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying private planes. Ariail was an Officer of the L.W. Routh Construction Company until his retirement.

He was a long time member of First Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. His greatest love was his family. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, traveling and time at the beach. He resided at Well Spring where he had many friends, staff, employees and residents.

He was predeceased by his parents; son “Andy” Ariail B. Creed, Jr. and two brothers, John L. Creed “J.L.” and Robert “Bob” Creed. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Routh Creed; daughter Deedie Creed and son Drew Creed and wife Ana; two grandchildren Ana Maria and Andrew Creed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1001 W. Friendly Avenue Greensboro, NC 27401 or to the Andy Creed Memorial Scholarship Fund, Campbell University, Buies Creek, NC 27506 in Ariail’s memory.
