

Arnold Douglas “Doug” Covey, 90, a resident of Greensboro, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025. He was born in Pulaski Co., VA, the son of the late William Leb and Nora Lee Songer Covey.
Doug was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Bridge of Hope. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was stationed stateside in Fort Ord California and later served in the Army Reserves.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dammie Arnold Covey, and all of his siblings and their spouses. He has two sons, Roger Darryl Covey and wife Cindy of Mebane, Timothy “Tim” Leon Covey and wife Natalie of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Brandon Covey(Allison), Brittany Albus(Glenn), Ashley Mahan(Chris), Gary Covey(Emily), Greg Covey, Christina Such(Tim) and twelve great-grandchildren, Gabe Mahan, Lucas Mahan, Patrick Albus, Aedyn Albus, John Covey, Hayden Covey, Hudson Covey, Rosie Such, Ellie Such, Maddie Covey, Willow Albus, and Lily Such; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
The family wishes to thank the staff members of Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kernersville, North Carolina, and Cardinal Hospice, for the care they provided. They would also like to recognize the Hanes-Lineberry receiving staff.
Graveside will be held at 1:00pm,Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, North Carolina 27407 conducted by Bishop Trevor Reid, and words by the Seniors’ Pastor, Rev. Tommy Johnson. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
