Barbara Louise Cheek Lomax

Barbara Cheek Lomax of Stokesdale NC passed away on Saturday July 30, 2022. Barbara was born on January 14, 1943 the only child of the late John and Gertrude Cheek in Mt. Airy North Carolina. Barbara attended college at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton Virginia and then completed her Economics degree in 1964 at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. Barbara had a successful career as a systems analyst in the banking sector. Her travels brought her together with Angelo, her friend and partner for more than 30 years. Barbara lived in many places including Alabama, New Mexico, Virginia, and New Jersey but always considered North Carolina home. She built her farm in Oak Ridge NC with her beloved horse Cagey. Barbara is survived by her daughter Mary Margaret (Meg) Lomax, son Charles Weston (Wes) Lomax Jr. and his wife Aimee and their children Charlie, Audrey, and Julia.
