With sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Pinsker, born December 10, 1946 in Queens, New York City. She is the daughter of blessed memory Irving Pinsker and Estelle Pinsker. She is survived by her brother, Jerrold Pinsker, his wife, Susan, both of Greensboro and her nephew, Daniel Pinsker, of Bethesda, Maryland.
Barbara was reared in Greensboro, having attended Sternberger, Kiser, and Grimsley Senior High class of 64. She graduated from Clark University with a BA (Honors) Psychology degree, Perdue University with a Master in Clinical Psychology, and Ryokan College with a Psy.D.
Barbara experienced the joys of living all over the country, eventually settling in her home in Santa Monica, California for the last 40 years of her life.
Barbara was a strong person who lived her life the way she wanted. She believed in meditation and spiritual guidance. She always had time to guide others through their personal emotional storms. At her death, she received an avalanche of personal messages from numerous individuals who she had helped in their lives. Her Facebook page is filled with many comments from friends expressing their love and gratitude for the impact that she had on their lives. They all acknowledged her sweetness, love, intelligence and generosity of spirit.
She was especially grateful to her longtime and indispensable housekeeper/friend, Malene Ortiz, her friend, Judy Ivec, her physical trainer, Anne Grimaldo, and her goddaughter who was like a daughter to her, Cher Reif. She was surrounded by her loved ones at death.
At the end, she died like she lived her life with clarity and dignity. She will live on as long as one of us remembers her. May her memory be a blessing.

A graveside funeral will be on Wednesday at 3:00 pm at the Greensboro Hebrew Cemetery, 2911 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro. Donations may be made to The Irving and Estelle Pinsker Memorial Endowment Fund at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greensboro, 5509-C West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC.
