Barry D. Brown age 67, of Greensboro, NC went to his heavenly Father and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, January 17th, 2024. In heaven he joyfully was reunited with his predeceased well-loved family, daughter, Jacqueline Brown; mother, Rosie Mae Brown; father, Roy Brown; brother, Glen Brown and nephew Rod Brown. His remaining family will miss him terribly but know he is at peace in God’s hands. Barry is survived by his beloved son, Jacob Brown; brother, Roger (Ann) and grandson Elijah Carter.
Barry loved music and was an excellent electric guitar and harmonica player. He was a classic car, motorcycle, and fishing lover. He was an old western movie, and football fan. He so enjoyed his outings with his son, Jake, as they attended many classic car shows, rock and roll shows, and restaurants where he loved pizza, hamburgers. He treasured his visits with family including his many loving and supportive relatives in Virginia, particularly his Aunt Evelyn and his deceased cousin Keith. Barry attended Ragsdale High School and GTCC. He was employed in the trucking and automobile industry before his motorcycle accident which complications contributed to his death. Barry beat the odds as he was given 10 years to live, and he was with us for 40 years, which we are very grateful for indeed.
The family wants to extend gratitude to the many caretakers who helped him. Most recently they were Erica, Sandra, Myah and Leo of Adams Farm Living and Rehab, and Emily of Pace of the Triad. They also appreciated the care he received from physicians and nurses at Cone Hospital, Hospice Home of High Point and the many others who helped Barry during his life and his final journey.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 26th at 2:00 PM at Grace Gospel Tabernacle at 1937 Merritt Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
Memorials can be made to Grace Gospel Tabernacle, 1937 Merritt Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407 or Hospice Home of High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
