Mrs. Bertha Coleman Ward Dalton, 89, a resident of Greensboro died Monday October 7, 2013 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Mrs. Dalton was born August 8, 1924 in High Point the daughter of Alonzo Clyde Ward., Sr. and Bertha Coleman Ward. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and was a homemaker. Bertha was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was married to James Ernest Dalton who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ray Dalton and two brothers, Herbert and Walter Ward.
Surviving is her daughter, Jenny Dalton Griffin of Titusville, FL, her granddaughter, Wendy Renee’ Tarleton of Lancaster, CA; her great-granddaughter, Kelsey Lynne Tarleton and her brother, Alonzo Clyde Ward, Jr. and wife Nancy of Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Reverend Burley Moore. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
