Bertha Arnold Williams

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church, with Pastor Rodney Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Born November 28, 1920, in Wake County, to the late William Sidney and Cora Lena Kearney Arnold, Mrs. Williams was a member of Rocky Knoll Baptist Church. She retired from Vick Manufacturing and prior to that, she worked for Blue Bell and Kayser-Roth Hosiery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dalton R. Williams; and her siblings, Wilbur Arnold, Florence Arnold, Joseph Arnold, Essie Whitt, Cary Arnold, Paul Arnold, Elva Faucette, Dorothy Harp, and David Arnold.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Joan Williams and her husband Woody of Raleigh and Karen Baird and her husband Roger of Boone; grandson, Connor Williams of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and granddaughters, Melissa Williams of Chapel Hill, Ashlyn Baird, and Kendyl Baird, both of Boone.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, Wednesday, at the church and other times at Mrs. Williams home.

The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to Clapps Assisted Living, Clapps Nursing Center, Moses Cone Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Unit, and Dr. Michael Norins.
