Betty Jo Somers Trayers, 74, a resident of Heritage Greens and former resident of Jamestown died Friday April 26, 2013 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Betty Jo was born March 7, 1939 in Rockingham County, the daughter of Wilbur Fred and Lillian Matkins Somers. She was employed for 25 years with Carlyle & Co. Jewelers before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Trayers.
Surviving are one sister, Mary Alice Settlemyre and husband Jerry of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Peggy Somers of Greensboro; brother-in-law Peter Trayers of FL; one niece, Theresa Finley; two nephews, Michael Settlemyre, Todd Somers and two great nephews, Josh Finley and Jarret Alexander.
Cryptside services will be held Saturday May 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend Dan Money officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to be made to Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church, 314 Muirs Chapel Rd., Greensboro, NC 27410
