Ms. Betty Jean Sheppard

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Street Chapel. Interment will be at a later date at the High Falls Friends Church Cemetery.

A native of Moore County, Mrs. Sheppard graduated from the High Falls School in 1955. She was a licensed Cosmetologist since 1963, co-owner of Mr. James Hair Designs with James Sheppard in 1966. She served as President of the Affiliate No 5 of the National hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association of NC. Mrs. Sheppard served as Secretary Treasurer of the NC State Cosmetology Association. She also owned and operated Shampoo Cutter Two and Command Performance in Greensboro and SS Cutter in Asheboro. Mrs. Sheppard also supported local schools as President of the Southeast Booster Club and PTA.

Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Bonnie Purvis of High Falls, brother Jimmy Purvis of N. Wilkesboro and nephews Jeff and Nic Harwood.

Mrs. Sheppard is survived by her sons Frosty Sheppard and his wife Debbie, John Sheppard and his wife Emily, sisters Pat Harwood of Asheboro, Katie Blalock and her husband John of Bear Creek, Margaret Maness and her husband Harrison of Asheboro, grandchildren Adam, Whitney, Caroline and Blake, 6 nieces and nephews.
