

Betty Ray Troxler died on November 5, 2025, at the age of 93. The visitation and funeral will be at First Baptist Church on November 10, 2025, with the visitation at 1:00 in the Atrium and the funeral at 2:00 in the chapel officiated by Alan Sherouse.
Betty Ray was born April 1,1932 in Elizabeth City, daughter of Reverend Abner H. Outlaw and Lena D. Outlaw. She lived in Elizabeth City until graduating from East Carolina College and moved to Greensboro to teach first grade at Clara Peck school for several years and then did Home Bound Teaching, which she loved.
In 1954, she married James Neill Troxler until his death in 1995. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday school class since 1954. She delivered Mobile Meals for about 45 years. She loved gardening and playing bridge and was a member of several bridge clubs. These ladies turned out to be her dearest friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son James Neill Troxler , Jr and her sister, Jean Hill.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Richard Troxler (Kathey), Davis Troxler (Kathy), her daughter Julia Naron (Greg) and her grandchildren, Thomas Naron, Tyler Naron, Natalie Naron, Joshua Troxler (Annamarie), Joseph Troxler, James Troxler, Gracie Troxler and Heather Troxler and nieces, Cathy Hill and Barbara Brown. She had 5 great grandchildren;
