Betty E. Vuncannon

.Betty E. Vuncannon, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on May 23, 1933 in Guilford County, NC , the daughter of Leslie M. and Cleo Brown Edwards. She worked in the accounting department of Jefferson-Pilot Life Insurance Company and retired after 46 years of service. Betty attended Gate City Baptist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband John Vuncannon in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Edwards. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Deborah Simmons and husband Jerry of Jamestown, NC and Christy Barbry and husband Jimmy of Julian, NC; sister, Shirley Meredith of Jamestown, NC; grandchildren, Justin Barbry, Jonathan Simmons (Jamie), Kristin Barbry and Carrie Reid (Dustin); great grandchildren, Lane Reid, Taylor Reid, and Allie Simmons, several nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Phyllis Edwards.

Services to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Gate City Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Owens and Rev. Bob Glasgow officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park
