Betty Lynch Wilhelm

Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Lynch Wilhelm, 94, a resident of Greensboro died Tuesday January 8, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Wilhelm was born July 12, 1918 in Lewistown, PA the daughter of Albert and Bessie Caldwell Lynch. She was a member of the graduating Class of 1936 at Lewistown High School. She graduated magna cum laude from Catawba College in 1940 where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Betty first taught in the Rowan County and Salisbury Schools. After moving to Greensboro she worked for several years at UNC-G and later taught the 5th grade in the Greensboro public schools. She was a long time standing member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jack Harold Wilhelm.

She is survived by her nephew, Timothy Lynch of CA and nieces, Shirley Kauffman, Jean Walker and Sandy Lynch of PA among others. At her request there will be no public services held. Her ashes will be inurned beside of her husband at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue and Foster Program, 705 Milner Dr., Greensboro, NC 27417.
