Billy Ray Jarrell

Billy Ray Jarrell, 74, was called to his Heavenly Home by his Lord on Thursday, June23, 2011. Services to celebrate his Life will be held on Sunday, 3:00 pm at the Shining Light Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Billy was born in Greensboro on Jan. 15, 1937, the son of James Madison and Nina Johnson Jarrell. He served in the National Guard and then served his Lord with his prison ministry of 15 years. He had a great compassion for lost souls, even in his stay in the nursing home. He loved his Pastor, church family, and especially his church where he was a member since Christmas Day in 1994. He will be greatly missed and always loved by his family. Billy loved the Lord. His favorite scripture was Phillipians,2:5

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are Patricia Inman Jarrell; son, Ervin Edward Wallace and wife Lynn of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Tamra Rae Jarrell Gell and husband Richard Gell III of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Richard Edward Gell IV, Roxie Wallace and Jacob Wallace; sister, Beulah Eckers of Penn. and brother, James Wilson of Emerald Isle, NC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
