

Richmond, VA - Bradley Wayne Snyder, age 34, died at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA, on Wednesday, April 13, from his life-long illness, cystic fibrosis, which he refused to let define his life. As a young adult, he met his beloved wife Rebecca “Becki” Roe Snyder, at the CF Clinic at Duke. They were married for 12 years. He died peacefully in her arms, surrounded by family and caregivers in the Respiratory ICU.
The memorial service is Monday, April 18, at Congregational UCC at 400 W. Radiance Drive, Greensboro. Viewing of the body and visitation wirh the family will begin at 11:00 am at the church, with the service at 12:00 noon, followed by burial at Westminster Gardens.
Brad was born in Greensboro in 1976. He graduated from Grimsley High School, attended GTCC, and earned certification from the police academy at the community college in Jacksonville, FL. His most recent employment was in security. In spite of the many challenges of his disease, Brad always worked full-time, until the day before his last hospitalization on March 1. Even with health insurance, Brad, like others with CF, often faced inadequate coverage and high expenses. To care for Becki was his goal.
He loved animals, especially his dogs Holly and London. He wanted children and loved time spent with young nieces and cousins.
Brad’s family includes his wife Rebecca Snyder; mother Lynn Hamilton of Greensboro, father Charles Wayne Snyder (deceased), sister Leigh Snyder of Germantown, MD, stepfather Jeremy Byman, father and mother-in-law Roscoe and Jacque Roe, grandparents Frances Inscoe White (deceased) and Deral West Hamilton (deceased), grandparents Joan Bradley Snyder and Benjamin Franklin Snyder (deceased), brothers-in-law Scott and John Roe, sister-in-law Crystal and husband Brendan Gardiner, uncles Deral Hamilton and wife Barbara, Kent White and wife Robin, aunt Peggy Donnell , and cousins, nieces and nephews Vanessa and Todd Henning, Amy and David Bunn, Samantha and Abigail Gardiner, Betsy and Bella Bunn, and Sophie and David White.
Brad’s mother’s home is open to family and friends.
