B.F. was born in Bear Creek to the late Braudy Fletcher Moffitt and Mamie Loid Moffitt, one of four children. His siblings, Freeman, Audrey and Betty preceded him in death. He worked for several years with the railroad as a freight manager. He then went to work for what ultimately became MCTA Inc., rising through the ranks and spending the last 40 plus years as owner and president. He conducted himself in business as he did personally, as a man with upstanding morals, strong ethics and honest opinions. As a loving father, he bestowed these same principles upon his two sons. B.F also took great pride in his work as a general practitioner on cases before the ICC (Interstate Commerce Commission). His long life could possibly be attributed to his participation in square dancing, tennis and golf. B.F. loved to watch sports as well especially college basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also a member of the Independent Order of the Oddfellows and a member of the Florida Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are his sons, Gerald F. Moffitt of Greensboro and James F. Moffitt of Dallas, TX, sister-in-law, Suzi Blalock of Hazelwood and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Sibyl Blalock Moffitt.
