Brian was born on April 5, 1957 in London, England to Gerald and Gabriele FitzGerald. He arrived in the United States as a mischievous first-grader, and graduated from high school in Summit, New Jersey. Brian went on to earn his BSRN from George Mason University and Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. His career path in nursing, hospital management, group practice administration, and medical IT consulting provided him opportunities to travel across the U.S. and Europe. He enjoyed return trips to many of these places with his family.
Brian loved his family and shared his passions of photography and cooking with them, including a recent gift of a self-published cookbook.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Kevin FitzGerald. He leaves behind his children, Sarah Ellen FitzGerald, of Cary, North Carolina, Laura FitzGerald Jennings and husband Andrew Jennings, precious granddaughter Emilia Grace Jennings, and mother of his children and lifelong friend Catherine Crosby FitzGerald, all of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Following Brian’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously suggests that memorial donations be made to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405. The kindnesses bestowed to him by the staff at Beacon Place were innumerable.
Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services of Greensboro is assisting the family during this time.
