An avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter Brian Dennis Pugh’s love of life and family didn’t come to an end with his death. Brian passed away on July 8, 2024 at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Brian loved his job at Interior Enterprises Inc. where he worked for 28 years as a superintendent. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities of work. He enjoyed hunting and fishing along with mentoring others how to hunt and fish. He shared this love and respect of the outdoors with so many and made a lasting impact on their lives. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Brian. He often enjoyed a quiet time with family. His personality and smile were contagious to everyone he met and he never met a stranger. He would help a friend in need at the drop of a hat and give a complete stranger the shirt off his back.
Brian was a loving husband and father to his wife Kelly, his two daughters, Zoey, and Michelle Turner from Chapel Hill. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, Kaydance Turner, Brian Brower, and Kaylynn Brower. He always enjoyed time with family Sister-in-Law Deborah Kennett Kennedy, Levi Kennedy, Mark Kennedy. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Donald Keith Pugh, and his mother, Martha (Farlow) Pugh, and his loving in-laws Allen and Linda Beane. Family will be receiving guests at his celebration of life on July 18 at 6pm at Hylton Farms, 2324 Providence Church Road, Climax, NC . In lieu of flowers please make donations to Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
The Hunter
the outdoors is where I will always be.
many memories I will cherish for I was free.
getting up early to see the sun rise
trying to outsmart that buck who is truly wise
sitting in my tree stand or having a quiet lunch
its these times I will miss so much
most people will never truly value what us hunters see
these memories will always stay with me
i leave this place leaving nothing to chance
i will now ask “may I have this dance?
I will now hunt and fish everyday
for it was a wish for now to stay.
don't cry or feel sad for me.
I will be the one flying up in the sky for you all to see….
