A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10:00 am at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro.
Born November 3, 1927 in Greensboro to the late Floyd T. and Stenna H. Stevenson, Byron was a lifetime member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church and a member of Woodman of the World for over 35 years. He was a member of Sumner High School’s class of 1948, worked alongside his father and later became owner of Stevenson’s Grocery until 1968. Byron was employed by Flav-o-Rich Dairy from that time until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Louise E. Stevenson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Wayne Stevenson and his wife Brenda of Trinity and Robert Stevenson and his wife Cindy of China Grove; grandchildren, Jason Stevenson and his wife Amy of Greensboro, Amy Looney and her husband Raymond of Mebane, Cory Stevenson and his wife Jennifer of Trinity, Josh Stevenson and his wife Christina of Sterling, VA, and Matt Stevenson and his wife Emily of Julian; great-grandchildren, Daniel Looney and his wife Kim of Hawaii, Ethan Stevenson and his fiancé Jade from Chapel Hill, Abby and Erin Looney of Mebane, Alyssa Stevenson of Trinity, and Avery Stevenson of Julian; and his great great-grandchildren, Ryan and Aubrey Cyr, and Olivia Looney.
