Carl Edwin Young

He was the son of the late Dewey Everett and Cora Emaline Webb Young.

In September 1959, Carl married Glestie Passmore of Topton, NC, who survives of the home.

They had one daughter, Sherry Young Brown, who passed away on April 4, 2021.

In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by two granddaughters, Samantha Marks and husband Scottie Marks, and Taylor Christy and husband Garrett Christy; six great-grandchildren, Savannah, Shannon, Sydney, Noah, Jackson, and Cohen; and one sister, Margaret Bowman, of Ararat, VA.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, NC, conducted by Pastor Charles Mustian and Rev. Hoyt Mason. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

For many years, Carl was a long-distance truck driver. He was a man of strong faith; he loved his family and his Savior. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and all outdoor activities. He was one of the best men that ever lived, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
