Heaven gained another soul as Carlton Alderman Davenport III, of Lexington, NC, left us, surrounded by family on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the age of 62. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, and loyal friend. He worked hard at every, single thing he did and instilled that in his girls. He had a big heart and loved deeply. He was always in good spirits, cracking jokes and making sure everyone around him was having a good time.
He was very proud of his Alma Mater, North Carolina State University, 1982 (GO PACK), where he earned a Civil Engineering Degree. He pursued his career whole-heartedly from day one, travelled the world advising for RJ Reynolds, in time, owned his own company (KMA International) and eventually gave his time, expertise and dedication to MG NEWELL of Greensboro, NC.
Carlton is preceeded in death by his mother, Mary Scott Davenport. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Davenport; daughters, Kristen and Meredith Davenport and daughter and son-in-law Allyson and Tony Bowman. He is also survived by his father and step-mother, Carlton and Mettha Davenport Jr., his sister, Elizabeth and many friends. Lastly, he is survived by his beloved four grand-dogs Buffy, Nala, Lani, and Kenzie. A Celebration of Life service will be held in his honor on Friday, July 15, 2022 at High Point Elks Lodge, 700 Old Mill Rd., High Point, NC 27265 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM.
