

Carmen Lydia Rosa nació el 19 de Noviembre del 1941 en Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Sus padres fueron Manuel Reyes y Damiana Rodriguez. Fue la mayor de seis hermanos de parte de su mamá: Eva, Elda, Antonio, Benjamín y Elizabeth. La mayor de siete hermanos de parte de su papá: Nereida, Zulma, Blesidad, Ana Mercedes, Benjamin y Jose Manuel.
El 24 de Enero del 1959 contrajo matrimonio con Isabelo “Chavelo” Castro Rosa y tuvieron seis hijos: Sonia, Erick, Oscar, Edgar, Carmen y Nancy.
Dios la bendijo con seis nietos, Nathanael, Anthony, Matthew, NeJuann, Natalia y Omar, y ocho bisnietos Maverick, Dominick, Jamison, Sofia, Jayden, Eliana, Kolesin y Ky’lin.
Carmen Lydia Rosa, junto a su difunta hermana Elizabeth Castro, fueron fundadoras de la Iglesia Hispana de Charlotte, NC. También, junto a su nuera la difunta Nelma Castro, fundaron la Iglesia Hispana de Wilmington, NC.
Le encantaba envolverse en los diferentes departamentos de la iglesia como Directora de Escuela Sabática y Directora de Diaconisas. Disfruto su tiempo como parte del Club de Cadetes Medicos. Le encantaba pasear y lo hizo hasta en sus últimos días. Su mayor anhelo era ver a Jesus y ver a todos sus hijos en la tierra nueva. Varias veces expresó que cuando estuviera en el cielo, después de ver a Jesus le preguntaría que la llevara donde se encontraban las mariposas.
Se llevará a cabo un velorio para Carmen el martes 24 de octubre de 2023 a las 10:00 a. m. en Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro, Carolina del Norte 27401, seguido de una celebración del servicio de vida a las 11:00 a. m. El entierro seguirá al servicio en Lakeview Memorial Park.

Carmen Lydia Rosa was born on November 19, 1941 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Her parents were Manuel Reyes and Damiana Rodriguez. She was the eldest of six siblings from her mother: Eva, Elda, Antonio, Benjamín and Elizabeth. The oldest of seven siblings from her father: Nereida, Zulma, Blesidad, Ana Mercedes, Benjamin and Jose Manuel.
On January 24, 1959, she married Isabelo “Chavelo” Castro Rosa and they had six children: Sonia, Erick, Oscar, Edgar, Carmen and Nancy.
God blessed her with six grandchildren, Nathanael, Anthony, Matthew, NeJuann, Natalia and Omar, and eight great-grandchildren Maverick, Dominick, Jamison, Sofia, Jayden, Eliana, Kolesin and Ky'lin.
Carmen Lydia Rosa, along with her late sister Elizabeth Castro, were founders of the Hispanic Church of Charlotte, NC. Also, together with her daughter-in-law, the late Nelma Castro, they founded the Hispanic Church of Wilmington, NC.
She loved being involved in the different departments of the church as Sabbath School Director and Deaconess Director. She enjoyed her time as part of the Medical Cadet Club. She loved to walk and did so even in her last days. Her greatest desire was to see Jesus and to see all his children in the new earth. Several times she expressed that when she was in heaven, after seeing Jesus she would ask him to take her where the butterflies were.
A visitation for Carmen will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Memorial Park.
