A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rev. Oral Puckett. Friends will be received following the service.
Carole was born July 3, 1940 in Greensboro, named after the county where her mother was from in Stuart Virginia. Carole was a bookkeeper for several businesses and retired after 10 years as the office manager from Time Warner Cable Co. She also co-owned and operated a fish market, as well as two private bars in Greensboro, “The Back Street Speakeasy” and “Partners” where good times, memories and a lot of fun were had. She enjoyed reading, dancing, cooking and gardening around her yard. Carole had a loving, giving heart and a great sense of humor, always creating laughter around her. Most of all, she loved her heavenly father Jesus and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Carole was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian M. Sutphin; son, Roy Pason Ingle III, stepson, Derrick F. Tatum and uncles, Herman T. Sutphin and wife Leona and Quinton Sutphin and wife Mattie and their daughter Gail.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joey Tatum and daughter Paige Ingle (grand dog Koty), all of Greensboro; son, Jeff Jones and wife Dana of Clinton; granddaughter, Jayna M Jones; step daughters, Jessica N Tatum of Alabama and Cecelia Rand of Arkansas; 5 step grandchildren and 1 great step grandchild.
The family asks with gratitude that memorials in Carole’s name be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
