

Carolyn “Calie” Walters Beeson, 83, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Tuesday September 16, 2014. Mrs. Beeson was born in Guilford County on September 15, 1931, the daughter of Everett Curtis and Hannah Louise Pinnix Walters. She was a graduate of Curry High School and attended Women’s College (UNC-G) in Greensboro.
She was married to Hansel Clarkson Beeson, Jr. who preceded her in death on December 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her sister Jane Curtis Walters. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda B. Miller and husband Don of Surfside Beach, SC; two sons, H. Clark Beeson, III and wife Sharon of Jamestown, Curtis F. Beeson and wife Ginny of Raleigh; her brother, Everett P. Walters and wife Carol of Hendersonville and four grandchildren, Erin Micciche and husband Mike, Ryan Beeson and wife Emily, Christopher Beeson and Nicholas Beeson.
Calie will be remembered for her love of baking and is best known for her Christmas cookies and wonderful pies and cakes. She was passionate about music and passed down her talents to her grandchildren. She also loved the beach and organized amazing fish fries for her family and friends. She was active in the catering and floral wedding business. Calie was an avid gardener and birdwatcher. Most importantly, she spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Private family graveside services will be held.
The family requests that memorials be made in Calie’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
