Dr. Ganz’s selfless love for his family was boundless; never lived a more kind, gentle, and generous person. He accomplished much, marrying his college sweetheart, Joan, obtaining a PhD in Chemistry, and starting his own laboratory which he presided over until his retirement. In retirement, he taught college chemistry, never content to stop giving what he could back to the world. His presence will be missed terribly by everyone who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Joan Ganz; Steven and Keith Ganz, his sons; Elaine Schoenfeld, his sister; Marion Newman, his mother-in-law; Kante Ganz and Ashley Ganz, his daughters-in-law; and Rory and Schuyler Ganz, his grandsons.
Funeral services celebrating Dr. Ganz’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Temple Emanuel on Jefferson Rd. in Greensboro. Burial will follow in the Greensboro Hebrew Cemetery. Shiva will be held that same afternoon at 5:45 pm at the family home in Greensboro.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Chemical Society (www.acs.org/giving) or to Temple Emanuel, 1129 Jefferson Rd. Greensboro, NC 27410.
Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel has the honor of assisting the Ganz family.
