A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Stephen Pressley officiating. The family will receive friends in the atrium following the service.
Mr. Taylor was a member of First Baptist Church, the Koinonia Adult Sunday School Class and was very active in the choir. He was the owner and operator of Taylor’s Florist and was retired as manager of State News Company of Greensboro. Mr. Taylor enjoyed spending time at Smith Mountain Lake, fishing, watching sports, especially Carolina Tarheel Basketball and more than anything he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Thomas Taylor, Sr. and Lillian McDaniel Taylor, and four sisters; Eunice, Faye, Runette, and Edith.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Taylor Dickenson (David) of Greensboro, son, Charles Taylor, Jr. (Jennifer) of Wilmington, ex-wife, Dee Taylor of Greensboro, brother, Maurice Taylor (Barbara) of Fayetteville, sisters; Theresa Hutaff of Lumberton, Evelyn Deaver (William) of Hope Mills, Elaine Huckabee (Wayne) of Cary and Hilda Cashwell (Don) of Newland, grandchildren; Kendall, Charles III, Landis, and Caroline, and many nieces and nephews.
